What is the MOCS Advisory Committee?
Missouri Complete Streets (MOCS) Advisory Committee is a public-private partnership between state, local, and private organizations, and individual citizens formed in 2010. Together, we work to ensure that all communities have flexible policies in place so that all Missourians have access to safe transportation options: regardless of ability, age or income level.
Mission
To provide leadership and resources that support accessible multimodal transportation in the Show-Me State.
Vision
A Missouri where all citizens have access to safe, affordable transportation systems that enhance their quality of life.
The Missouri Complete Streets Advisory Committee strives to achieve this vision and mission by:
- Supporting investment in Complete Streets infrastructure projects and staff
- Educating key influencers, decision makers, and community members about importance of supporting active transportation
- Using active transportation as a key strategy in addressing major issues such as equity, access to healthy food and employment
- Making active transportation a central focus of the state’s identity, its pitch to businesses, and its efforts to collaborate with neighboring states
